The DiningRD Food Handler Certificate Program course gives your team essential knowledge in basic food safety, personal hygiene, cross-contamination prevention, allergies, time and temperature control, cleaning, and sanitation.
After completing the food handler course and successfully passing the course assessment, learners will better be able to:
- Describe the importance of food safety
- Explain the causes and consequences of foodborne illness
- Describe how to handle food safely, from receiving through service
- Identify proper methods of personal hygiene when working with food
- Describe how food can be contaminated and how to prevent contamination
Of note, some states or counties have specific requirements for food handler training and assessment. In these cases, please use the specific version of the food handler program required to meet regulatory standards.
There are no formal pre-requisites for enrollment. Pricing varies based on volume; individual access starting at just $15.

Individuals who earn the DiningRD Food Handler Certificate:
- Have demonstrated knowledge of fundamental food safety principles
- Are able to apply safe food handling practices to reduce the risk of foodborne illness
- Understand key concepts including contamination prevention, hygiene, and sanitation
However, the certificate does not guarantee job performance or competency in all real-world scenarios; It does not replace supervisory-level certifications (e.g., Food Protection Manager); It reflects successful completion of a knowledge-based training and assessment, not licensure or professional credentialing.
DiningRD collects and maintains learner information for the purpose of:
- Course registration and access
- Assessment scoring and certificate issuance
- Recordkeeping and compliance documentation
