What’s New in DiningManager: August 2026

The latest DiningManager release is here, with updates across PlateFul, MealCard, and TableSide designed to make everyday workflows easier, reporting more useful, and menu and resident information even more accurate.

Here’s a look at what’s new.

More Flexibility in PlateFul

This release brings several enhancements to PlateFul reports and menu planning tools.

Production Sheets & Reports

Production Sheets now offer more flexibility for your kitchen team, including:

  • Production Sheet by Dining Area can now be exported to Excel
  • The option to turn off Advanced Prep Notes
  • Substitution quantities are now included on Production Sheets, helping teams know exactly how much to prepare
  • Shopping List reports now include substitutions when calculating amounts to purchase
  • PDF Shopping Lists include a new Order column

We’ve also made nutrition information easier to read. The Nutrition Analysis Report now includes a pie chart showing macronutrient distribution, and nutrient terminology has been updated from “Na” to “Sodium” and “Fe” to “Iron.”

Clearer Diet Spread Information

Spreadsheet reports will now display “Not Spread” or “Not Allowed” rather than leaving these fields blank, giving teams clearer information at a glance.

When printing an individual recipe, users can also choose to include Diet Spread Recipes or Diet Spread Details.

Submit Menus for RD Review

Communities that don’t use Approve My Menu can now submit menus for Registered Dietitian review directly through DiningManager using Dietitian Intelligence credits, creating a more streamlined review process.

Approve My Menu capabilities have also been expanded to support our Canadian clients.

Smarter RecipeCapture & Menu Conversions

We’ve continued improving the intelligence behind RecipeCapture and menu conversions, helping the system better interpret recipe information and turn it into usable DiningManager data.

New MealCard Tools for Resident Management

MealCard updates make it easier to identify missing information and manage resident preferences.

Before printing MealCards, users will now see an alert identifying residents who are missing a diet or texture, helping teams catch incomplete information before meal service.

Additional updates include:

  • NPO totals added to the Diet Tally Report
  • The ability to document a weight refusal
  • PointClickCare monthly weight updates now bring over all new weights, rather than only the most recent weight
  • A new Substitution Roster Report
  • The ability to search by item within Resident Substitution Preferences
  • The option to toggle individual meals on or off when managing substitution preferences

A Small but Helpful TableSide Update

TableSide’s Order by Resident meal selection now displays the name of the day—Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and so on—making it easier for teams to confirm they’re placing orders for the correct day.

These enhancements reflect our continued focus on making DiningManager simpler, smarter, and more useful for the teams who rely on it every day. The August release will be available beginning August 18.
